Frequently asked questions.
What is chiropractic?
Chiropractic is a regulated, primary health profession which is tightly regulated in the UK. In order to list yourself as a chiropractor in the UK you must have qualified at a recognised university. Freya is a Master of Chiropractic and graduated with a distinction in 2018.
Is it safe?
Yes! Chiropractic care should always be tailored and appropriate for you - this is the main reason we take such an extensive health history at your first appointment. Chiropractic is suitable for all ages.
Do I have to get ‘cracked’?
No. Patient preference is always paramount. Whilst Freya is a ‘diversified’ technique chiropractor, using spinal manipulation, she also uses gentler techniques such as Activator method, SOT style techniques and soft tissue work where needed or preferred.
Do you only treat backs?
In short, no. Whilst chiropractors are perhaps best known for treating back and neck pain, we can also work with sports injuries, knees, hips and shoulders where appropriate to help give you relief.
How long will it take?
Without first examining, this is a difficult question to answer. Every person has a different severity of issue and a different healing rate. During the consultation we will aim to provide a structured treatment plan, and patient preference is always taken into account. Once they have overcome their initial complaint, many patients choose to undergo ‘maintenance care’ going forwards.
